iDirect X7 LED Status and Specifications

The iDirect Evolution X7 is a powerful satellite router that supports DVB-S2 and ACM on the outbound carrier and ATDMA or SCPC on the return carrier. Below is an explanation on the front panel LED status and the brief specification.

A guide to the iDirect X7 Spec and front panel status LEDs

POWER

The Power LED indicates the power supply status. Normally solid GREEN if the power supply is OK and OFF indicates insufficient or no power.

The X7 can be ordered in 3 different power options (1,2,3) depending on the supply voltage, etc.

Option 1 AC Power

  • Voltage: 110 – 240VAC (auto switching)
  • Frequency: 50 – 60Hz
  • Connector: IEC C-14 Male
  • Power: 2.7A, 270W
  • BUC Voltage: 24VDC
  • DC Power at TX: 4.9A
  • DC Power at Rx: 13 – 18VDC @ 500mA (Voltage set in Option File)

Option 2 AC Power

  • Voltage: 110 – 240VAC (auto switching)
  • Frequency: 50 – 60Hz
  • Connector: IEC C-14 Male
  • Power: 3.4A, 340W
  • BUC Power: 24 or 48VDC selectable
  • DC Power at TX: 24VDC @ 4.9A (117W Max) or 48VDC @ 3.3A (158W Max)
  • DC Power at Rx: 13 – 18VDC @ 500mA (Voltage set in Option File)

Option 3 DC Power

  • Voltage: 36 – 76VDC
  • Power: 8.3A, 310W
  • BUC Power: 24 or 48VDC selectable
  • DC Power at TX: 24VDC @ 4.9A (117W Max) or 48VDC @ 3.3A (158W Max)
  • DC Power at Rx: 13 – 18VDC @ 500mA (Voltage set in Option File)

STATUS

Boot sequence and overall hardware status of the X7. Normally solid GREEN if all is good and solid RED if there is an issue with the modem.

FAN

Used for the state of the internal fan. Normally solid GREEN and RED if there is a failure. There are 2 fans at the front and another in the Power Supply Unit (PSU) with the warm air exiting from the rear.

TEMP

Gives an indication of the temperature of the X7, normally GREEN. An X7 temperature range is 32 to 50°C.

RX 1

Primary receiver and indicates that status of the downstream carrier. Will be solid GREEN from about -3dB and above and will flash when the modem is receiving the network time plan. Amber when there is no receive signal.

RX2

Secondary receiver status. Same spec as Rx1. Unlit when not used.

TX

This LED indicates the status of the transmitter, enabled or disabled. Normally solid GREEN if the modem has received the time plan from the iDirect hub (needs Rx LED to be solid green). Amber if the Tx is disabled by the modem.

  • Tx output power is from -35 to +3dBm in 0.5dB steps
  • IF Frequency Range: 950 – 1950MHz
  • IF Interface: F-Type
  • Impedance: 75Ω

NET

Modem network status. Normally solid GREEN if the modem has acquired in to the network. A flashing NET LED means that the modem is trying to acquire in to the network. The Net LED shouldn’t flash for more than 30 seconds.
