This beginner-level course is for people who need a working understanding of NDT methods and their limits:

You will also learn to check whether equipment and procedures are ready before testing begins.
Clearer reporting gives inspection and maintenance teams findings they can verify. Just as importantly, you will understand when a result needs qualified evaluation and why an introductory course does not replace supervised experience, authorization, or method-specific certification.

After completing the lessons and scoring at least 80% on the 15 question, scenario-based final assessment, you receive a Satoms training certificate. The assessment covers methods, limitations, safety, and reporting. This certificate recognizes completion of the fundamentals course; it is not method-specific NDT certification.
No prior NDT experience is required. Basic familiarity with industrial equipment is helpful but not essential. You need internet access and a device for online learning. Allow approximately 7–9 hours for this self-paced course.
The course covers visual, penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy current, and leak testing, including how to match methods to materials, likely flaws, and access conditions.
